This is a very old wooden table that once belonged to my Grandfather. I use it in my kitchen all the time. I have had this table for as long as I can remember!
About a year ago I decided to change the color from the shocking lime green (I'd painted on it about 10years ago) and give it a facelift with a white coat of paint -you will notice I love white painted furniture. ;) :)
Since then it has had some wear and tear and even survived two big moves! Also, it has a huge hot pot stain that made the paint turn yellow. :( I don't think this camera could pick up all the marks on the table but you should notice the yellow stain on the bottom leftish side.......

I also wanted to add something to the table top but I didn't want to spend too much time with a paint technique because I needed the use of this table back in my kitchen pronto!!!
The table didn't need sanding before hand because I used 'Annie Sloans chalk paint'. This paint is unique in that you DONT need to sand or prep your wood before hand!
Nope!
Nada!
Nothing!
Just clean the area you want to paint and make sure you give the paint a goooooooooood stir n shake before hand.

There we go! table now painted with a fresh coat of paint!...."can you see the difference?, I can see the difference! ......." :)
While I was painting I had a brilliant idea to add a Vinyl sticker to the surface of the table, a quick and easy face lift for a table that needs to be ready by this evening! So off I went to our local Mr Price Home store!...... I was given a gift card a few days ago, the perfect opportunity to go spend it!
Clever me! :)

With applying Vinyl stickers you need to just follow the instructions on the packaging, it is really very easy to stick down.
Just have a credit card on hand to rub any air bubbles out from under the Vinyl and to help it stick to the surface you are applying it onto.
So there you have it! My table is ready to use.
This was a fun easy project! I now have a clear plastic table cloth over the top, to prevent any ugly hot pot stains from happening again!
